Stay dry. We can’t. Local flooding has closed all of the schools in the area. Somehow, I still made it to work. :/

Yeah, it’s been nuts the past couple weeks after a hot, dry summer. Rain every day. Thankfully I live on high ground up here in AL (literally on a mountain, which for Louisianans can be defined as like a dirt mound, but imagine it many times larger). But even so, we have our own localized flooding, like water seeping into my garage, storage room, and some of the roads out of the neighborhood. Nothing like that big-ass Mark Twain Creek you have in your backyard :D

I’m in the U.K. but I shall heed your advice and intend on getting wet on the inside. Sláinte

“...which for Louisianans can be defined as like a dirt mound...”
No kidding. As a non-native, I find the road names around here confusing. I’m expecting one thing, they provide another. For example, Bluff Road and Highland Road, both with just enough elevation difference to separate swamp from dry land.
Yeah, that’s not quite what I’d call a bluff.

Maybe it’s a double bluff.

Meanwhile in rainy dreary Seattle:
(actually summer here is probably the nicest in the country).
Stay dry and safe.

Is Sports Authority still having closing sales? Get a kayak.
In all honesty, though, be careful out there!

Kayaks are great fun! We borrowed some from a friend of mine in July.
I’ve been looking into getting some of my own, but I haven’t found the right deal yet.

Perfect opportunity for free horsepower upgrades !
(Don’t be like me, driving through standing water is bad.)

I made that mistake in my younger days. I was NOT HAPPY. Fortunately, insurance covered most of the cost.

I got lucky, I went from worrying that insurance would total the car, to insurance paying for replacing the motor with a fresh BMW remanufactured one plus enough left over to almost totally pay for an intake, charge pipe, intercooler, downpipe, oil catch can, and ECU tune.
By the time I get my car back, tentatively next Friday, I’ll have been in a paid-for-by-insurance rental car for about a month, but hey, it’s a month of mileage not on my car, and I’ll have something like 75-100 extra horsepower.

I’ll set a box fan outside and point it in your direction. I hope that is enough.

Might need two box fans.
What if we has a squadron or two of fighter jets all hit mach 1 over the fire line. If they were close enough, would that put it out? (really I just want to watch jets fly over a fire)
